As every Monday, we invite you to analyze last week’s prices of precious metals found in car catalysts. What news do we have today for you? Was this time the quotations of precious elements were falling down for a significant part of the week?

In the case of platinum, unfortunately. The chart throughout the period described, except Tuesday, showed a decrease in the exchange rate. On Friday, May 10, the price per ounce was $ 868. Already two days later, after the weekend, this value decreased to USD 855. The only positive accent of the week was Tuesday’s rise, but it was not spectacular and amounted to less than three dollars. After that, unfortunately, the price began to decrease and on Friday, 17 May, the rate was USD 818 / ounce. The average value of an ounce this week was 847 USD.

In the case of palladium, the situation is somewhat different. Here, for two days, we could observe an upward trend, but this did not help in the final analysis. On May 10, the week began with a rate of USD 1 348 / ounce. Over the weekend, this figure dropped very much to 1 317 USD / ounce, or more than 30 dollars in two days. Tuesday and Wednesday were a nice change in the form of palladium price increase, but the value that the element reached on Wednesday amounted to only 1 336 USD / ounce, and in addition on Thursday and Friday we had another fall in price. Finally, palladium cost 1,308 USD / ounce at the end of the week. The weekly difference was quite large and amounted to USD 40 / ounce.

Also when it comes to rhodium, we do not have good news for you. Throughout the described period, we were dealing with a steady decline in quotations. Initially, on May 10, an ounce of the family was worth USD 2,700. By May 14, it had reached USD 2,670, and during the next three days, the price fell to USD 2,620 / ounce. The last time we observed such a value was in mid-April.

Gold grew stronger at the beginning of the week. From Friday to Monday he increased his price by $ 14 per ounce. After reaching the value of USD 1,300 / ounce on Monday, it began to systematically lower the value. First, gently, to 1 297 USD / oz, later the difference was more noticeable. The graph line consistently pointed to a lower and lower price to finally reach the value of USD 1,277 / ounce.

When it comes to silver – here is a rather unusual situation. Until Wednesday, May 15, the price of an ounce was almost constant, and then it lost a lot in two days. The rate at which this week ended was $ 14.39 / ounce.
